Network Problem
When: 2010-01-27 22.00 till 23.30 BST

We have experience significant packet loss within our Meridian Gate network which was service affecting. The root cause of this has been identified and the required steps put in place for this to be blocked. The problem was caused by a large amount of UDP packets flooding the network. This would have manifested itself by websites being very slow to access and some services being unavailable.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Network Issue Update
When: 2010-01-22 14.50 BST

We have experienced further problems with ENTA,these are our main transit providers for UK traffic, they are advertising connectivity to us but are unable to route traffic. We have dropped the connection with them and this traffic is now routing through our other transit providers of which we use a total of 4.

We are not the only ones affected by this and are monitoring the situation. This is external to our infrastructure and therefore without our control. We are working to ensure there is minimal disruption to all our customers.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
